About the “Topics” section

This is the “advanced RSE-like topics” section. Topics may either be generic technical topics or Aalto specific things - or often both combined.

These pages summarize technical topics which a RSE may need to know. They are neither a user-focused explanation (RSEs can find those themselves) or a highly detailed review (RSEs can also find that themselves), but perhaps an overall summary of what RSEs should know. They may be more or less in-depth. They may go deep in depth if it needs to be documented somewhere, but it should be clear what everyone should know and what is advanced.

Typical structure:

• (intro) What is on the page

• Background (it is likely to be known, but should be stated to ensure everyone has a fair chance)

• Actual main material, not Aalto specific if possible

• Aalto specific practices

• Plenty of links to other material
